The activation furnace is a continuous equipment used to produce high-quality activated carbon by physical activation of carbon raw materials. Widely used in the activation of charcoal (from sawdust, coconut shells, rice husks, straw, hazelnut shells, nut shells, fruit shells) and coal-based carbon. It uses steam as the activation medium. In a high temperature environment, the steam can fully contact the carbon raw material to be activated. The final product activated carbon produced by the activation furnace has good indicators and can be widely used in water purification and other industries.
The working principle of activated carbon activation furnace is mainly based on high temperature activation process. In the activation process, the carbonized raw materials are fed into the activation furnace and react with the activator (such as water vapor, carbon dioxide or chemical activator) at high temperature. In this process, the carbon atoms in the raw materials will be rearranged to form a large number of micropores and mesopores, which greatly increases the specific surface area and adsorption performance of the activated carbon.
